The visual identity for Smith’s Air Conditioning was developed from the ground up to reflect the brand’s practical, professional, and approachable nature. We focused on creating a bold, versatile logo and promotional flyer design that clearly communicated heating and cooling services, with a colour scheme and typography that could be consistently applied across print, signage, and future marketing materials — ensuring strong brand recognition in both residential and commercial settings.

❄️🔥 Logo Design & Colour Selection

The logo was developed around a carefully selected colour palette that visually communicates temperature contrast: cyan blue for cool tones, orange for warmth, and black to ground the design with strength and clarity.

Red was intentionally avoided to keep the tone friendly and less aggressive, allowing the identity to remain professional and accessible. The final result evokes a sense of balance between hot and cold — a perfect representation of air conditioning services.

The typeface journey involved exploring several decorative fonts, but the final choice landed on Futura Bold — a timeless, geometric sans-serif that offers both strength and readability across digital and print mediums.

📄 Flyer Design & Production

The flyer was designed with practicality and long-distance readability in mind. A single high-quality image was processed in Photoshop and resized to 150ppi, ensuring optimal balance between clarity and file size for print output. The flyer needed to maintain its visual impact when viewed from a distance — whether pinned up in a shopfront or posted outdoors.

The layout used strong contrast, large headings, and clean spacing to ensure all key information (services, contact, and location) stood out clearly. The colour scheme tied directly back to the brand identity, reinforcing visual consistency between logo and marketing material.
